The BedSide Sentinel™

The BedSide Sentinel alerts staff when a resident is preparing to leave the bed, but without any physical connection to the resident. An adaptation of Infra-Red technology, the BedSide Sentinel is a self-contained alarm unit which stands away from the bed, out of reach of the resident.   It detects motion, and, when aimed above the bedrails, will sound an alarm when the resident tries to get out of bed.  The unit provides a choice of two audible local alarms, a "chime" for times when it is quiet, and a louder "alarm" for times when there is more background noise. When positioned across room doorways, the BedSide Sentinel is also useful for alerting staff when residents leave their room, or when unwanted visitors enter residents’ room.
